JLW Racing is a father and son team that began back in 2003 riding an 80cc Cagiva road race bike. Together, Wayne Williams (Father and Manager) and Joel Williams (Son and Rider) have since progressed through to competitive 125cc racing, moulding the team into an organised, focused and serious venture. With British Championships high in our sites for 2007, the future for JLW Racing is looking good.

Joel recalls…

“…my debut race was at the Darley Moor circuit on March 28th 2003. Considering it was the very beginning of my racing career, I was impressed to finish 9 th and 8 th and not actually last!

That summer we returned to Darley Moor track and were surprised to be told that I actually broke the previous lap record! This time I was crossing the line 5 th and 4 th and already starting to get used to being at the front of an experienced and talented pack.”

“…2004 was much the same in terms of position until a disastrous crash halfway through the season when we were actually leading the championship. One week later we won 1 st place at Oulton Park.

2005 was as much a valuable learning experience as 2004, throwing in mechanical problems to deal with when the heat was really on yet rewarding us with more impressive wins in the wet and positions amongst experienced British Superbike riders. 2005 saw many highs and lows for the team, making it both hard work and exhilarating. Not happy to let a year pass without a positive fuss, we ‘decided’ to win our Superclub debut!”
